Lorien Leaves

Hi, my dear readers ♥

At the end of summer I had the honor to test-knit a new shawl pattern for my dear friend Han "Lorien Leaves" . While Han's original version is inspired by calm and wise elves of Lorien, I decided to do mine in more Mirkwood style - autumn colours & brown/off-white stripes. 

Even though the shawl is huge it was fun to knit and didn't take much time (but that was probably because I had a deadline for the test-knit - be free to knit this two years and don't feel bad about it, OK? Knitting is not about speed ♪)

I used various colours of Holst Garn, because I like working with it and it's also quite cheap - but still really good quality and they also have like 100000 colours to choose from !

Speaking of my friend - Han recently opened a new online shop with yarn from northern lands ♥ It's called SEVERSKÉ VLNĚNÍ and guess who made the logo ♪ Make sure to check it out ! I'm currently working on a new stranded yoke sweater from Tukku Wool and it's SO good to work with !

OCTOBER 2018 - outfit post

Hi, my dear readers ♪

The monthly outfit post is here, this time from October 2018 because I'm terribly behind, but you're used to in now, right? The weather was still very warm, not really indian summer - more like global warming... I visited Oktoberfest, local sheep/yarn/wool festival and released a set of autumn-themed button for my Etsy Shop ♥

Let's start with the most important event in Bayern - Oktoberfest, of course ! We went there just to take a look around, didn't have a single beer and I was happy that I could finally wear my pink dirndl again :D other than that, it's really not my thing, but I think I'll go and take a look again next year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For me much more interesting event which is happening in Munich is Wollmarkt in Vaterstetten. A weekend long market at farm not far from Munich with all kinds of products around sheep (yarn, wool, clothing, cosmetics, etc.), food and drinks - homemade marmelades, fresh apple juice and much more. At the other side of the road is also ceramics market with all kinds of amazing mugs, baking forms and everything you can make from ceramics (I wanted to buy like 1000 tea cups and mugs :D ha ha) The weather was perfect, sunny and warm - actually maybe too warm, because I couldn't even wear any knitted sweater, just a light shawl :D

I was wearing my favourite autumn combo, which I'm wearing every year, so you've already seen it like five times ... the only thing that's different every year is my hair and number of tattoos ...

The next one is quite basic outfit, probably for our weekly knitting afternoon in café :) I found this grey turtle-neck shirt among my to-DIY stuff... I probably planned to paint something on in and yeah, that won't happen, I think :D better wear it now before it falls appart !

... and here you can see the third new button I made for my shop :)

And now something darker - outfit with a new t-shirt design from czech artist Raven From The North  ♥ This is my second t-shirt from him  and I wear both a lot, because they kinda match with everything I have :D

And the last one is a bit unusual - I got a new haircut ! Also wearing all my neon knits together with my Boris Karloff t-shirt, because I was in Halloween mood already... and of course the ugly denim jacket !

...and speaking of Halloween - I can't end post about October (which is basically Halloween month) without a photo of our costumes which we put together literally one hour before the party :D ha ha

Eclipse

Hi, my dear readers ♥

I'm back after busy December and lazy first week of January ♪ The weather is cold and gloomy, so let's have a little flashback to warm August when I finished this unexpected knit !

I didn't even have this pattern on my to-knit list, the reason why I decided to make in the first place was a spontaneus purchase of 7+ skeins of this really nice cotton yarn at closing sale of one the local yarn shop... (which is sad, but the staff was really mean to us last time we were there so I'm not even sorry ha ha :D) Everything was 50% off that day, so I decided to stock up for some longer sweater/cardigan/dress. After browsing through Ravelry for a while I picked "Eclipse" by Veera Välimäki , made a swatch and started knitting right away ...

The whole thing is knitted in stockinette with inverted cable on one side - which is in fact the wrong side. So it has a really great effect after finishing, when you turn the piece inside out and suddenly everything makes sense and looks perfect ♥

I enjoyed knitting this a lot ! It was fast-growing and perfect for summer car knitting :)

I finished it in just 16 days & it fits exactly as it should, so I consider it to be a very successful project !

SEPTEMBER 2018 - outfit post

Hi, my dear readers ♥

Winter is apparently here, but I still have some summer-y outfit photos up to my sleeve, so here we go - september bunch of  OOTDs !

Let's start with something super-unusual for me - a cosplay atempt ! Yes, you read correctly, I went crazy and decided to go in cosplay for this year's German ComicCon in Munich :D ha ha

I put together a casual Sera from Dragon Age ...thing. Please keep in mind that this was mostly done for fun and I'm not seriously considering to start doing cosplays :D (but I would like to continue working on this one... for the next year, or whatever !) I have no idea how to style wig and I don't even have the wig head, so I couldn't style it even if I wanted to, so I just cut unevenly this Armin Arlert wig from cosplay shop, ordered pair of plaidweave leggins, got two pairs - both badly printed so I'll have to rip them appart and make one pair from the halves which are printed correctly? (I'll probably let some professional do this for me). I bought a few bee-themed things from Willy's Paw and an oversized sweater and neck scarf at C&A, put on my balerinas and was ready to kick Corypheus's ass :D !

No, seriously - even though no one recognized me I had SO MUCH FUN ! Next convention I'm going to do it again ♥

The second outfit is just my usual daily potterhead attire ♪

I found this Deathly Hallows t-shirt at Takko, sometimes I use it as pajama, sometimes I wear it outside :D Also Muggle-Born-Sisters's Dumbledore's Army pin looks just so good on this camouflage jacket ! ...and did you notice something new? YES I FINNALY HAVE THE REAL WAND!!! ≧❂◡❂≦ ♥ I got it as birthday gift from my husband for my 30th birthday ! Of course it's the wand of Sirius Black, my favourite character ♥

The third outfit is full of New York memories ♥

I bought both these funny pants and NY public library t-shirt in spring when we visited this amazing city... I miss it every time I wear these !

And the last outfit already looks a bit like autumn, but don't be fooled - it was like 28°C outside and I didn't even put the cardigan out of my bag :D ha ha

The Yarn Snob pin was a birthday gift from dear Han ♥ and it's so true :D Did you notice that in the past few months I became a bit addicted to enamel pins? (◑_◑) ♪

AUGUST 2018 - outfits post

Hi, my dear readers ♥

A little flashback to summer ! Three outfits from August ♪

The first one is a bit weird, I know - I just really wanted to wear these long chihuahua socks I bought in NY :D and also my new "Tea Lover" pin from Willy's Paw Etsy ♥

The second outfit is quite simple :) I went to pick up my mum on bus station when she came to visit us in Munich and I wanted to finally wear this new HP t-shirt from Elbenwald - it glows in the dark, how cool is that ??? Last time I had a t-shirt like this I was 10 years old :D 

And the third outfit is something I was wearing to celebrate my name day with Honza ♪ We met on bikes in town and went for a dinner at Italian restaurant ♥ (it was too warm for this dress, but that didn't stop me from wearing it :D) The dress is from Psylo Fashion and I bought it in London, while my new black Nike shoes are souvenir from NY - I love wearing my travel memories ! It always takes me back for a little moment :)
