New Sewing Book + DIY pants + Creativemesse München 2018

Hi, my dear readers ♥

After the last year's success at CreativeMesse München (creative fair), we decided to go there again together with Rommily and Kathi ♪

This time we knew what to expect and I was really looking forward to buy some yarn at Tausendschön's stand again... but I ended up being pretty dissapointed about this one - they didn't have all these pretty yarns at all ! It looks like they only took a few leftovers with them (each skein was different colorway) and a wall full of Malabrigo (but that's quite easy to order online and not what I was going for), atop of  that their stand was really small so I just looked around and went to look at other stuff ...

What I absolutely didn't expect to buy and get excited about was SEWING BOOK and FABRICS ?! I thought I'm done with sewing, I don't enjoy it as much as I used to - except from upcycling stuff... but - suddenly - while searching for book with hand lettering alphabet, I stumbled upon Hosen nähen - schön, leich, schnell - with 16 sewing patterns, tutorials and videos online for the more complicated designs. Usually I'm not really interested in sewing books, but this one has a lot of loose pants, sweatpants and most importantly LEGGINS pattern, so I had to buy it :)
Also I couldn't leave without fabric, especially with so many stands around selling really cute prints and materials... I went for organic cotton jersey in grey with black dandelion print and light summer fabric in dark blue with... eh dandelions :D

Aside from unexpected fabric shopping I also had to stop by my favourite SommerAbend to buy even more stamps to my already big collection ♥ I got the alphabet book from Frau Annika, potion bottle, cute mori pendant with squirrel and acorn ...and a few gluten-free cookies from the most unfriendly lady at the whole fair ... (but they were delicious!)

Being really excited about all my new sewing stuff, I just had to make the first pair of pants right on the next day ! I started with pattern called "Hose mit Gummibund / Pants with elastic waistband" and used the summer dark blue dandelion fabric, lightbox, papers from my life drawing sketchbook for pattern tracing and various leftovers of elastic bands I could find at home :D

The explanation in the book of how to make each pair of pants is not really clear and you need some experience with sewing pants (which I don't really have, so I freaked out a few times), but somehow I managed to do it and after the whole day of tracing, cutting and sewing I had my very first pair of pants according to my new book ! And I'm super-happy about them ♥

When I finished these pants, temperatures were still below zero and everything was covered in snow... now it's finally warm and love wearing them ♥

I hope you' re all doing fine !
Have a beautiful day, everyone ♥

Hirka's Sweater + meeting Siri Pettersen

Hi, my dear readers ♥

Even though I don't have as much time as I want to for reading, I still love books... especially fantasy (but you know that already, right?) and if, by a chance, there happens to be some distinctive knit in fantasy book, I just NEED IT !
This happed with Harry Potter, The night circus (rêveur's shawl is in planning) and also with my new favourite books Raven Rings trilogy from Norwegian author Siri Pettersen - where the main character Hirka is wearing comfy, big, hand-knitted sweater and I wanted to knit it ever since I read it last year :D

I looked through Ravelry patterns, found this beautiful River Braid Sweater from Norwegian (!) designer Katrine Hammer and ordered yarn immediately........ but then (I think) spring came and I didn't get around to knit it... UNTIL - I found out that Siri Pettersen is going to be in Prague, signing books, meeting fans and everything... so I just HAD TO KNIT IT ASAP - which was literally 17 days before the book signing D: But I did it !!! And Siri loved it ♥ ♥ ♥ *fangirl*

I went a  bit over-the-top with photos and what started with "I'll just put on this red wig to look like Hirka" ended up in full closet cosplay :D It was way too many things to wear for the actual book signing, but at least I took a few photos at home ♪

I made the sweater from Drops Air, which is very soft and incredibly light yarn, perfect for chunky knits ♥ (and it's for a really good price)

I also made a few photos at the book signing at Neo Luxor, where I met with Elyonka, Maia and Eris (we all met for the first time IRL) and we talked the whole time while waiting in the line and then overwhelmed Siri with books, fanarts, hugs and questions :D (she liked it a lot btw. ha ha)

What a day ! I usually read books from authors who are either from US or they are already dead, which makes chances of meeting them very low. So this was really great feeling to personally meet author of something I admire and tell her how much I like the books and characters ♥o♥
(maybe I should start reading more new books from European authors...? :D Any recommendations?)

Oh, and here's my gift for Siri - picture of Rime (my crush from Raven Rings books), which I did for this year's Inktober and she liked it on my Instagram ♪

I hope you're all doing fine ♪

OpenFlair 2017

Hi, my dear readers ♥

On the first weekend in September we came back to Ingolstadt for one beautiful late summer day. There was a big market with all kinds of everything, called OpenFlair. It takes place in KlenzePark (which is the biggest park in Ingolstadt, I think?) and happens only every 4 years ! So I just couldn't miss it !

There is quite everything to be found, from medieval stands with hot mead, to oriental street food, tea house, pirate bar, rasta stand with ital food, turkish porcelain, ethno clothing, decorations, lamps, sweets, camel ride for kids, belly dance performances and music !

We came right on time for lunch - I got a delicious falafel with baba ganoush and Honza bough some oriental meat plate (I can't remember the name, but it was GOOD). We strolled around shops, I bought a hot mead (must-have), Honza bought me beautiful earrings carved from bone ♥ ... and we also managed to meet with our friends from Ingolstadt, which was amazing :3 (and also perfect opportunity to buy a few bags of roasted almonds in sugar, nougat and all kinds of sweets and feast on them together with our friend's kids :D ha ha)

spot Nana among the shop decorations :D

Without planning it any further I was wearing poncho which I bought on this market four years ago (IS IT REALLY FOUR YEARS ALREADY?!) and together with the Oakenshield shawl and my rounded glasses I ended up looking like a hobbit mage, again :D No problem with that!

Actually I liked this look so much that I decided to use it as my profile picture and also on stickers for my AUBERGINEN ART Etsy shop ♪

I hope you're all doing fine !

ARTMUC 2017

Hi, my dear readers ♥

The busy summmer is here ! I have so much to write about, but only very little time to sit down and make posts :D That's why I'm a bit late and today I'm going to show you a few pictures from an event we visited in May ... May was the beginning of busy summer - since then every weekend is booked already, we're making trips, hikes, we're having visits, concerts and 1000 other things to do ♥

This was especially busy long weekend in May - there was a national holiday on Thursday and free day on Friday + weekend and we had schedule for every day. On Thursday we went on ArtMuc, on Friday to Salzburg, on Saturday was ComicCon and ...yeah, I've already forgotten what was on Sunday :D

Today I want to show you a few photos and my "crinkled" outfit from day we visited an art fair ARTMUC. It was on Praterinsel, same as the Art Stroke last year and there was a lot of artists selling their art... I, personally, was a bit disapointed about it, because I didn't manage to find many artworks I liked... I had a feeling like there was a lot of rivality between artists, trying to sell abstract paintings with "no life" for a very high price to rich people who came for a new decoration for their luxurious Munich appartements :D
(Art Stroke was more like a fair, with artists having fun and showing their works to the world, happy about every sold postcard with print of their artworks... )

We walked through the fair, I took some photos of my favourite pieces, we had a wine at the bar and then we slowly walked home, because the day was quite nice :)

And now for my crinkled outfit !
I didn't notice it was in SUCH A DIRE NEED of ironing until I saw these photos D: So I apologize in advance for the mess ! It wasn't THAT visible in real life, I promise ♪

I got this dress from Veni's closet cleaning and I really like the mint colour ♥ I combined it with black and most importantly with my new cutest enamel AVOCADO CAT pin from PONY PEOPLE !

I hope you're all doing fine ♥
Have a beautiful day, everyone !

German ComicCon Munich

Hi, my dear readers ♥

At the end of May I decided to visit German ComicCon, which  took place in Munich for the first time - it's a pop culture convention happening in variety of German cities, with a famous guests, cosplay contest, artist alley and a big shopping area ♪
I have to confess that I'm getting a bit sad and envious every time I see photos of my friends having fun at conventions, wearing cosplays and let out their inner geeks for a whole weekend :D
Unfortunatelly I live in a city where are no famous big conventions and it's too far away for me to travel to any. Honza doesn't like these things at all and an idea of going on convention with me dressed funny, pay for the ticket and be surrounded by fans all day is like nightmare to him :D that's why I decided to go, even though I had to go alone. eeek!

The con was a bit smaller than I expected, but I was still happy that I went :) I liked the atmosphere, talked to a few people, bought some cute stuff at artist alley and also Mass Effect t-shirt :D hu he he

At first I was determined to go as a casual random dalish elf, but... I chickened out (¬_¬) So I put on some of my Hufflepuff gear collection and went as a proud potterhead !

Confession n.2 (or did you notice already?) - I love cosplay ♥ Seriously, I admire all this work cosplayers are putting in their costumes - make-up skills, big-ass armors, role-play, wig styling, painting, 3D printing, etc. etc. *o* No wonder, cosplay stalking was one of the main things I was looking forward to :D
I even overcame my inner socially-awkward-peguin and asked some people for photos and then forgot which language I speak and just made this 👍👍👍 and ran away :D

I hope it's OK to share these here ? Unfortunatelly cosplayers don't have business cards, like artists do, so I can't tag them on photos T_T so sad ! Let me know, if you recognize anyone ♪

aww Newt :3

That Saruman look :D

I don't even play Overwatch, but these guys were my favourite ♥

...also these two *o* (what a clever idea to make a Carl cosplay as a girl !)

Sera ♥ ♥ ♥
I would love to make Sera cosplay, too btw.

there was a girl inside of this dalek :)

this woman was insane *o* such a huge costume !

...and few random photos of things I saw there

you could sit inside the DeLorean and get a photo :) if you weren't alone like me

 Governor's office :D

And here's my loot !

(the End Times graphic novel is SO GOOD)

he he... I'm still too broke to buy Andromeda, but this t-shirt was on sale so I couldn't leave without it

I also managed to squeeze through the crowd and see the panel with actresses from The Walking Dead and was too shy to get an autograph from Alfie Allen / Theon Greyjoy (he's so cute ≧◉◡◉≦ )... I think that I would never be able to pay for the photo-booth with famous actors, I would feel so awkward :D ha ha they're like normal humans with face of my favourite characters... so weird ...

I hope I will find courage to visit more conventions in the future !
I would love to go to Leipziger Buchmesse or meet people I know at AnimeFest again, but it's both so far away ... fuu

I hope you're all doing fine !
Have a beautiful day, everyone ♥
