From t-shirt to tank top feat. CATS

Hi, my dear readers ♥

Today it's time for summer flashback! With a bit of upcycling and cats ♪

First the upcycling part.

I'm sure you remember my grey t-shirt from Nuclear Holocats with design from dear Striga ♥ It's a super-pretty t-shirt, but I found out that grey cotton shirt with sleeves is not really good for my anxious sweating self :D It's just too visible when you get sweaty in this colour and it makes me extremely uncomfortable, so I decided to make a few adjustments to this cute t-shirt :) 

I cut off both sleeves and also the neckline and from the fabric leftover made a little loop which I used to hold together the back part, which added more fit to the loose tank top ♪

No need for sewing machine, just good pair of scissors, needle and a few centimeters of thread.

I was quite nervous about this, but it ended up looking great and I really like wearing it ♥

For the cat part : if you look closely, you'll notice that there is not only one cat print on my outfit ! The "Witchcraft" skirt, with cat skull print is from my RED BUBBLE shop ♥

... um and yes, my tote bag is made of bubble wrap :D

Dungarees

Hi, my dear readers ♥

Do you like dungarees? I do :D I always had ones in my wardrobe when I was a kid and also later as teenager... so I was really happy when they started to appear in shops again last year, but I could never find the perfect shape or material which would not make me look like a child or worse, pregnant. They were mostly too baggy, had way too many fake-denim-holes and scratches or they were too expensive ...

Until one day I discovered these in C&A ! They were afordable, fit perfectly and have a nice colour ♪

They're pretty cool for ridding a bike, because I don't have to watch out for my t-shirt to untuck from pants :D Also my lighting Cyberdog party shoes are great in case you ride home late and your light stops working ! (that's what is happening to me all the time)

 dungarees are also perfect for enamel pins !

I wore this outfit on one nice warm Saturday, when we went on bikes to city center with Honza. He recently bought a new bike and wanted to try the route to his office. When we got there we stopped by for a lunch in very fancy-looking vietnamese restaurant called Chu-Chin and it was delicious ♥ nom nom

Samsara

Hi, my dear readers ♥

It's slowly becoming my personal tradition to order some nice things from Samsara Himalife every summer. Add some cute clothing, gifts, burning incense and tea in the shopping cart and can't wait for the package to arrive just on time for summer heat ♪

This time I ordered a beautiful black dress with emroidery, the cutest handmade balerinas, (finally!) a pashmina shawl in pastel colours, gift pack of various tea sorts for Honza's name day together with Himalayan burning incense sticks and big mandala cloth for my mum, which I forgot to take photo of ... (but it's super-pretty !)

When I got the package I put on the dress right away and was wearing it the whole upcoming week, because it's JUST SO GOOD and comfortable and it fits perfectly ♥ When my mum came for visit she liked the dress so much that I had to order one for her as well :D ha ha

Here's how I wear it !

It matches perfectly with my knitted "Restless Nostalgia" shawl when it gets colder in the evening ♥

Tardigrades in Space

Hi, my dear readers ♥

Today it's an outfit post with many things I want to mention ♪

First this is historically the last outfit post with dreadlocks - big change is coming !

Second - THIS SKIRT - amazing, huge, long, flowy, dancing skirt which I bought from Veni :) 

Third is my new bag from RedBubble with tardigrades painting done by no one else than KK !

Fourth thing worth mentioning is the necklace I'm wearing - it's handcarved from bone, by talented finsternich and it was given to me by dear Striga ♥

And the last thing I want to show you is my loot from Boesner, which is a huge art-supplies super market and consumer of the most of my budget :D ha ha 

On this day, I went there just to buy more carton canvases, so I can continue experimenting with acrylic liner and spray... hm... I ended up with an incredibly heavy tote bag full of art stuff... 

Aside from canvases I also bought more liners, nib holder, new watercolour sketchbook, silver spray and this BIG and absolutely amazing book full of anatomy studies of old masters and the great art teachers ! One of the best art-related books I ever found *o*

Fluffy Sweater // Ethical Fashion Talk (again)

Hi, my dear readers ♥

As you know I'm trying to buy as much ethically made fashion as possible. But part of this...lifestyle, maybe? Is not only to buy clothing and accessories which were made by workers in good conditions, but also to learn how to buy new clothes only when you really need it.

I don't think I ever had a really real problem with shopping, but still - I used to buy A LOT of clothes every week, because it was cheap and I was feeling down and this was how I cheered myself up. And I kinda became addicted to this "feel better for little price" thing and managed to collect a huge wardrobe full of things I didn't need.

I already said this before, but I have the urge say this again and again everytime I see posts of other bloggers or instagram people how they go shopping every week and buy 10000 t-shirts and new coats and 10kg of cosmetics. Seriously, guys ...ask yourself first - "Do I really need this?" And you will see how many things are just this "instant happiness for cheap price"stuff ...it's hard, but true! There are other more creative and social (like friends) ways to fell better, trust me...

I've been trying to do this for more than a year and I still have problems to hold myself on the leash when I'm in big shopping centres and suddenly I see all this cool stuff I know from internet and it's SO DAMN CHEAP...but, then I think about sweatshops and ask myself this evil question and always walk away without it...I also have to confess that this process takes me about 15minutes of contemplating, 10 minutes in changing room (where I'm trying to convince myself that it doesn't look good on me) and another 5 minutes of walking around the shop with the piece of clothing in hand (because it looks great on me!) until I finally put it back and go away =D I know it sounds funny, but it's important to stop buying things we don't need... I plan to work on this a lot this year - DIY as many things as possible (clothing), instead of buying something - first look trough my stash if there isn't something similar already (yarn, art/crafting supplies) and the most important thing - visit shops as less as possible !

The last part was really hard when I was living in Prague, because there are shops EVERYWHERE at every underground station is shopping centre and huge shop windows are luring you inside. In Ingolstadt I was also walking trough the city centre almost every day - I stopped to take a look here and there and probably ended up with buying something. But now in Munich it's pretty cool ! The closest shop is a thrift store and anywhere else I have to go with bike or public transport, which is easy (but still workout) in spring/summer/autumn, but now in -9°C I really don't ride a bike and public transport is too expensive for just a window shopping trip =D 

The only store which I had on my way to post office and weekly grocery shopping is Takko. The shop which I disliked the most while living in Czech Republic, because I never liked their old-fashioned/grandma designs... until I found out that Takko actually has a certificate of ethically-made clothing O_O I couldn't believe my eyes, checked it many times, but it really is there on the website ! So...since then it's just Takko for all basic clothes... and occasional guilty pleasure shopping ♪

And now I finally got to the point of this post - THE FLUFFY SWEATER ♥

I wanted one like this for ages, but never wanted to buy it in evil H&M or online and suddenly here it was - on sale - in Takko ! It's pastel pink and it looks like something I don't need at all, but actually it's the best thing ever in this year's super-cold winter =D 

And it matches with my galaxy leggins perfectly ♥

I hope you're not bored with my endless talk about ethical fashion. I know I can't express myself good enough in English, so everything sounds really flat and dull, but... y'know what I mean, right =D ? I'm not trying to push you into this thing, I just want people to think about it... because my inner hippie is crying over the damage we are doing to our planet and ourselves ... and I'm also sick of all the mass media and advertisements trying to tell us what to do, what to eat, and what to wear... 

just be yourself and try to not harm anyone in the process ;)

Like damn... Vagabond shoes are actually made in China and Cubus is probably not as ethical as I thought ?! I wouldn't know without you !

DIY Dragon Skirt

Hi, my dear readers ♥

Today I want to show you another one of my upcycling creations !

Don't worry, no more tie dyed bedsheets =D This time I upcycled an old kitschy fantasy t-shirt of my husband !

I had this t-shirt in my stash for quite some time without any plan on my mind... until one day I run out of black thread which I'm using for making harnesses, but I was still in mood for some sewing so I dived into my materials and found it again... and suddenly idea appeared - what if I make a pencil skirt out of it ? Yeah, I know, I have some really weird sense of thinking...

Inspired by Annika's videos and her advices I decided to find as many tutorials as possible and don't make it in my usual (random) way. I wanted the skirt to look really good and as much professional as possible !

I ended up using these two

 I didn't manage to persuade my printer to make the pattern in real size, so I was just...trying to re-draw it on the fabric in bigger size <_<

(If you're going to do this, please  print it in the real size - you save a lot of time and nerves)

 This is such a cool way to do an elastic waistband ! I can't wait to use it again *o*

I couldn't believe how amazing the skirt is !

Same as ravens there are dragons re-appearing everywhere in my life... it's even my Chinese horoscope sign... the only thing with dragons missing in my life is a tattoo... I need to work on this one !

I wore my new dragon skirt for a walk around Munich with Honza and Satan. We discovored some new places, had a gluten-free pizza, Honza took a lot of b&w photos and I caught A LOT of Pokémons by the river =D
