Hi, my dear readers ♥
Remember how I was talking about so many projects planned for February ? I managed to finish them all on time *o* Most importantly the Waiting for Rain KAL and in the last minute even the project for this month´s Make Thrift Buy Community Challenge ♪
This month everyone´s quest was to make something inspired by this scalloped skirt with buttons ...
I really like the mustard colour, but... it´s not really my kind of clothing... I wasn´t sure about the scallops either... yeah, but then I just couldn´t resist the challenge ha ha =D I also got quite a big leftover of a beautiful floral fabric which I used for this lolita skirt I made for Porcelain Doll =)
The fabric leftover was in pefect size for short skirt and even for the scallop experiment, so I gave it a try. I used my usual skirt pattern consisting of various rectangles, re-learned how to make button holes, got surprised by this tutorial for scallopes because it really works and... in one day the skirt was ready to be worn =)
This time I had everything for the challenge at home already
• leftover fabric (108x136cm
• elastic band
• scissors, thread, sewing machine, etc. ...
I didn´t take any progress photos except for this one, because I think it would be a bit boring =D
here you can see the fabric gathering process
And here´s the final result !
I did´t go anywhere, because it was rainy so I dressed up more "crazy" than usual =)
Light colours, and a bit of cult party kei/otome-kei vibes ♪
The inner side of scallops is peeking out, but I got a lot of advices in the group on how to repair it, so it will be fine soon =)
DIY Anime brooch =D !
I have to say, that I really enjoyed sewing this one. Maybe I´m slowly starting to be motivated in creating more "complicated" clothing than just easy capes and skirts =D My next plan are a pair of harem pants, decorated with green lace ...from an old tie-dyed bedsheet
I´m really curious about what the project for March will be *o*
What are your current projects? Do you plan to DIY something?
Have a beautiful day, everyone ♥
