Ostara

After celebrating Imbolc in February I just couldn´t miss Ostara on spring equinox !
It´s a celebration of spring start, nature awakening, the equality of day and night. It´s a feast associated with goddes Ostara and her signs are eggs and hare - so that´s where the Easter comes from !

I want to show you how I decorated our flat and my altar for this day. It´s cute that thanks to the similarity with Easter, I can keep it decorated like that even a few weeks after =)

I didn´t have much Spring decorations from our old flat, so I had to buy the most of them and I was lucky to find so many cute and cheap ones in Nanu Nana shop. Only thing I had since the last Easter are those traditionaly decorated eggs, because I just love making them and after all those years we have tens of them =D (I like Easter mainly because I can decorate eggs with wax again *o*) Unfortunatelly this year I forgot my burner and everything I need for it in Prague, so I couldn´t make any new for Ostara =/ I have to make at least one when I will be there on Easter !

so cute *o*
(those two lovely rabbits are statues of me and my boyfriend - in case you didn´t recognize us)

I put the egg I like the most on my altar...and just when I was telling to my boyfriend how I think it was some kind of weird sign that right after I lit my altar the door to balcony opened even if it was closed since the other day..............................my beautiful egg cought on fire ! D=
Sorcery !
(but I really do believe it was something...if it weren´t on fire while I was there talking and was working instead - it could all burn >_< thank you, God and Goddes !)

And I can´t forget about my oufit for the first Spring day - weather was very good in the morning, but became rainy and cold in the evening
I wore my new handmade floral headband - I finally found flowers for in *_*

and make-up detail from my phone

Now have a nice Easter everybody !
How are you celebrating it ? Are you decorating eggs? Hiding them and then let kids looking for them? Or you just give something sweet to each other? Do you go to church? I´m curious =)

I ´m going to be in Prague and we´re going to give each other some sweets and chocolate eggs and then on Sunday (I think it´s Sunday) all boys are going to whip every girl with this devilish thing

exactly like this =D

Nooooooo !
(but it´s necessary, because in case no boy do this to you, you´re going to "get dry" which sound´s really weird =D oh czech traditions...I see what you did there)

    1. jo jo, malování vajíček voskem to je moje nejoblíbenější zábava v roce =D akorát už je nemáme kam dávat a pomalu mi dochází nápady na vzory, potřebovala bych někdy navštívit ňákou folklórní akci v kraji kde se tyhle voskový vajca dělaj a načerpat inspiraci =)
Tak to máš super, aspoň to bude sranda =D

  5. Your flower head band is the most beautiful thing!
That whipping tradition is pretty interesting. If I were a little girl I might been so scared to go out, haha!
This Easter holiday has been dedicated for my mid-terms. Some family members brought a huge round bread that doesn't contain yeast (it's only sold this time of the year) but that's all the interesting things going on here. :P
    Hope you have fun!

I was scared like hell when I was little ! I always hid myself somewhere in an attic or at the far end of our garden and waited until twelve o´clock when this maddnes ends =D

  7. These pagan rituals are so magical! I like your altar, I think God and Goddess are pleased. :) And your make up and hair are incredible, you look like a forest fairy. :)
